What is The Butterbies
The Butterbies is an app primarily for children, where the child can adopt and take care of a lost caterpillar egg and raise it to a beautiful butterfly. This process will teach the child what it takes to properly look after a pet. This process is not trivial. If neglected the pet does not die it just looks sad and uncared for. There are a large number of butterflies to collect each with its own personality and career.
The app is free to play but we do offer limited in-app purchases that allows content to be unlocked. It is possible to play and earn extra coins in the game to unlock content without any additional payments. If you or your child wish to unlock content more quickly there is an option to do this through in-app purchases. This feature is off by default and can be turned on if required and can be accessed behind a parental gate.
Within the app there are many fun games and activities for the child to enjoy, such as
- Looking after a virtual pet by cleaning, feeding and playing with the pet to ensure it is healthy and happy.
- Customising the environment the pet lives in e.g. change wallpapers, plants, lamps and window blinds.
- Play a dress up games and create photo montages which can be shared (the parent needs to enable the sharing feature inside the app)
The app also allows the sharing of user generated content through social media. This feature is off by default and can be turned on by the parent if required and can be accessed behind a parental gate
